The first issue of Mehraab was well received. It was exciting to see that our endeavors are beginning to bear fruit. We have more readers, more advertisers and more articles coming in. There were inquiries about the news magazine and many more want their names added to the mailing list. And this is just the beginning. As the summer comes to a close, the second issue of Mehraab has reached in your hands. The challenge to bring out each issue every month on time is a familiar one. Efforts to fashion this magazine is voluntary one, where the ebb and flow of enthusiasm is often unpredictable. As already mentioned we will have standards in place that establishes high but reasonable expectations from our readers. Our website is still under construction and should be available soon. Mehraab wants to focus on the stories our readers narrate about their own lives, in their own voices. We believe every body has a story to tell. We live in a society preoccupied with people who are make believe and media promoted. Through Mehraab we would like to reclaim the art of storytelling, of passing down the stories of our families our communities and ourselves to our children and friends. It is a means of celebrating diversity and building understanding and appreciation for one another. Mehraab may have readers' section in future, which will contain their views. The readers should email their input and opinion, which will help us to improve it further.< |
